Aye, there’s the rub! For anyone with Dad’s metabolism and penchant for rest rather than running, weight gain is an occupational hazard when it comes to cooking.
So, after years of trying this and that diet and program, Mom and I are embarking on a 6-week team sport to see if we can lose some significant weight and adopt the habits to keep it off.
We don’t claim to have found anything new. In fact, we’re just re-committing to Michael Pollan’s “eat food, mostly plants, not too much” strategy that really turned me on last year. And Mark Bittman’s “Food Matters” recipes will provide my cooking foundation. We’re committing 6 weeks to doing this plan together.
